CVG is the 2nd largest Delta hub behind Atlanta. It is also the home of Comair. Over 90% of the traffic here is either Delta mainline or one of the regional partners. You will see the full gamet of Delta mainline aircraft including the 777 but the majority of traffic is CRJ/ERJ.

Official Spotting Locations

Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) has an assigned viewing area for plane viewing. The entrance is located near the intersection of Mineola Pike and Donaldson Rd Rt 236.

The easiest way to get to the viewing area is to take the Mineola Pike Exit of I-275, turn south and follow Mineola Pike until it ends at Donaldson Road. Turn left and there will be a drive immediately on your right with signage indicating it is an airport viewing area. There are benches and toilets available on the area. Most people stay in their cars when watching aircraft. It is normal to see airport security patrol this area as well.

The viewing area is adjacent to runway 36R/18L giving a mostly unobstructed view of this runway. Landings to the south are fully viewable. Runway 27 is fully viewable although this runway is use almost exclusively for departures to the west.
