:As an island it's certainly open to debate. The [https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/cy.html CIA World Factbook] describes it as Middle East. Cyprus is part of the European Union; it has adopted the Euro as currency. Sport clubs participate in European championships. Would it be an option to categorize Cyprus both in "Europe" and "Middle East" - in a similar way as Russia is categorized as "Europe" and "Asia" ? On the other hand, Turkey is only categorized as "Europe" even though the majority of its landmass is in Asia ... [[User:Archie02|Archie02]] 13:06, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
