Each of the fields on the right hand side is filled in with the variable name shown.

  • fullname is the full name of the airport. This may be the same as the article title, or may include additional information. Only current names should go here; former names no longer in use may be covered in the introductory section of the article.
  • location is the city or town in which the airport is actually located. It may not be the same as the city name given to the airport.
  • iata is the airport's three letter IATA code.
  • icao is the airport's four letter ICAO code.
  • aptype describes the type of operations at the airport. The page Airport type describes the suggested values.
  • website is the address of the official web site for the airport. http:// must be included. Other sites should go in an External Links section at the end of the article.
  • mapurl is a link to map that provides an overview. For US Airports, using the Hybrid view on Google Maps is suggested. http:// must be included. Please note that Google Earth is not the same as Google Maps; Google Earth requires an application installed on the user's computer to view, so other web-based sources are preferred.
  • mapsource is the name of the web site providing the map.
  • psh is a link to the guide covering hotels with spotting possibilities from Plane-Spotting-Hotels.com.
  • The Communications sections are for the various radio communications frequencies used at the airport.
