Theodore Francis Green Memorial Airport is an international airport located in Warwick, approximately six miles south of Providence in Kent County, Rhode Island. T.F. Green is the largest of six airports owned and operated by Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC); it was the first state owned airport in the United States. Other RIAC airports are Quonset State Airport (KOQU), Block Island State Airport (KBID), Newport State Airport (KUUU), North Central State Airport (KSFZ), and Westerly State Airport (KWST). T.F. Green is the official airport of The New England Patriots and due to the proximity to Boston, sports charters are common all year around.

Spotting Locations

Winslow Park

Winslow Park is located parallel to runway 23/5 and sits near the intersection of 23/34 making it the best location for runway 34/16 viewing as-well. Winslow has great views during the morning time but becomes backlit later in the day.

Parking Garage A

Parking garage A has a great view of the whole airfield and allows for non-backlit photos during the afternoon to evening hours. Be careful though, if you stand too close to the edge Southwest may call Airport Police on you.

Main Ave

Main Ave at the end of runway 23/5 is a great location when runway 5 is in use. Because of the lack of obstructions to the area due to the ILS system, this location is good all day long.

Warwick Industrial Drive

Warwick Industrial Drive is also a great spot during runway 5 operations but it too is backlit during the afternoon.

Facilities

T.F. Green Airport's Bruce Sundlum Terminal has 22 gates and is located on the western side of the airfield. The airport's FBO is Northstar Aviation, located on the north side of the field along Airport Road. FedEx and UPS operations, along with all other general aviation are also located in this area.

Ground Transportation

Green Airport offers a variety of ground transportation options including taxi, coach bus, rail, rental car, and public transit bus. Taxis, public transit, and coach buses are accessed through the lower level of the main terminal. In 2010, RIAC completed construction of Interlink, a $267 million transportation hub. Interlink connects to the Bruce Sundlum Terminal via a sky-walk that is roughtly 1,500 feet in length.

Taxi service is primarily provided by Airport Taxi and Limousine Co., which also operates shuttle services to and from the Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry at Quonset Point in North Kingstown. Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) operates two lines that serve the main terminal, 14 & 20. The 8 line serves Jefferson Boulevard which runs along the west side of the Interlink facility. Coach bus service to Downtown Providence is provided by Peter Pan Bus Lines. Once in Providence, one can continue on to Boston and Cape Cod. Hotel and off-airport parking shuttles are also located outside the main terminal on the lower level.

Interlink houses all nine rental car companies that operate at PVD. Companies include Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. Each company's inventory is also housed in the Interlink garage. Amtrak's Northeast Corridor runs through the facility and connects T.F. Green to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA) Providence-Stoughton Line, which provides rail service to Boston's South Station. Amtrak service is not available at Interlink, although there are future plans to add an adjacent station.
