The Opa-locka Executive Airport is a general use airport located in Opa-locka, Florida. OPF is home to a number of aircraft storage and scrap companies which tear down aircraft as large as DC-10s and 707s at the airport. Additionally, there is a large cargo carrier presence at OPF, aircraft such as DC-3s, Convair twins, and even Antonov An-12s frequently operate cargo flights from OPF. While Opa-locka has no official spotting locations, the numerous rare and interesting aircraft on the field make it an excellent through-the-fence spotting location.

Official Spotting Locations

No official spotting locations exist at OPF.

Other Spotting Locations

Wright Dr. + Bennett Rd.

OPF's primary aircraft dis-assembly and scrapping facilities are located on a ramp across from the intersection of Wright Dr. and Bennett Rd. The airside/landside fence line in this area is not permanent and may move dependent on the number of aircraft undergoing work. You should easily be able to park along the fence line, airside workers are used to the sight of cameras poking over and around the fence. From this location you can view parked airliners (DC-10s, DC-8s) undergoing scrapping, OPF's resident Russian aircraft (AN-12s, AN-24s and AN-26s), and various parked GA and cargo aircraft.

LeJeune Road

LeJeune Road (NW 42nd AVE) runs to the airport's main FBO. If you park at the FBO there are numerous locations to view aircraft through the fence. From this vantage point you can easily see the airport's classic aircraft lineup (DC-3, DC-4, DC-6/7)
