The Blue Danube Airport, termed after the river Danube, or Flughafen Linz is located in Hörsching, about 15 kilometres southwest of the provincial capital city of Upper Austria, Linz. The airport is equipped with an asphalt runway ( 3000 x 60m / 9843 x 197ft ) with the magnetic heading 09/27 and a parallel grass runway (660 x 45m). On runway 29 an ILS with Cat IIIb is installed, heading 09 an ILS with Cat II. There a two taxiways to the commercial area (F & G). The apron has a size of 70.000 m² or 12 parking positions for medium size aircraft, all heading west/east. On the east end of the apron there is a special parking area for ultra large size aicraft, like Boeing 747, Boeing C-17, Antonov An-124 and An-225. There are no restrictions for aircraft landing. Official opening hours are 0430 - 2200 UTC (0500 - 2200 UTC on weekend) and a maximum of four cargo aircraft movements between 2200 and 0430 UTC on working days.
