Eugene Mahlon Sweet Field is the second busiest airport in the State of Oregon. It is served by United Express, Delta Connection, and US Airways Express carriers as well as Horizon Air.

Official Spotting Locations

There are no official spotting locations though a number of sites can offer good views of landing and departing aircraft.

Location

KEUG is located at the intersection of Greenhill and Airport roads about 7 miles northwest of the city of Eugene. There is a parking lot at the end of Airport Rd. that is located about 300ft. from the numbers of runway 34L, which is the runway most commonly used for departing traffic. A chain link fence is the only obstruction of view. When 34R is active, Airport Rd. is located about 500 ft. from the active threshold.

Locations to Avoid

While the Flightcraft FBO offers decent views of the Terminal area, avoid loitering in the area as airport security may be called.

Regular Traffic

Skywest serves EUG as both a United Express and Delta COnnection carrier. Skywest offers flights with CRJ 200's and 700's aswell as Brasilia's to SFO, DEN, PDX, and SLC. In total there are about 20 Skywest movements per day. Mesa air serves PHX and LAS 2-3 times per day using CRJ 200 and 900 aircraft. Horizon serves PDX, SEA, LAX, RDM, and MFR with Dash 8 Q200 and Q400 aircraft. The period of highest traffic occurs daily between about 12:15 and 14:45 with about 20 inbound and outbound flights. There is also a lot of traffic in the early morning between about 05:20 and 07:00.

Facilities and Transportation

There is no public transportation to the Eugene airport. To reach the airport by automobile, use Highway 99 north and turn left on Airport Rd.
