	There are two excellent official locations either side of Puhinui Rd on the approach to the airport. Basically these are aimed at visitors in cars but are accessible by public transport and walking. At the 23 end of the runway, the aircraft are less than 400 yards from touchdown but are around 250 yards in front of the viewer so a telephoto is useful for the many ATR and DHC8 and smaller aircraft.
